Carl Jung not only found great meaning in our dreams, our repeated life patterns, and our suffering, he saw them as communications from our soul leading us toward healing. I can walk alongside you as we explore your past, present, and potential for the future in hopes of deepening your self-awareness and finding healing.

Since each person's issues are unique, feel free to call or e-mail with questions or to schedule a free consultation. You can expect the following on your first visit:
When you first arrive, please have a seat in the waiting area and I will greet you at the time of your scheduled appointment and invite you into my office. We will spend a few minutes going over policies and I will explain a little about how the therapy process works. If you have any questions at this time, please feel free to ask them. We will then go over your history briefly and talk about the main reasons you are seeking counseling. We will go over your goals and what you hope to gain out of therapy. If you are comfortable with all of this and would like to make your next appointment we can do so at the end of the session, and you can make your payment at this time. Rest assured that this will all go at a pace you are comfortable with.
Please take a few minutes before your initial session to print and fill out the new client form and bring it with you to your appointment. This will provide me with your basic contact information, and also help you to understand the general process in more detail. The documents consist of Office Policies, General Disclosure Information and a quick form for general information about you.
If you prefer, you can also fill out an optional, in-depth history form instead of having to go over it all at once in person.
I hope this information will be helpful to you and ease any initial nervousness you might experience about meeting me for the first time. If you have trouble printing the forms for any reason, please call me and I will be happy to mail you a copy.
Jungian psychotherapy is based on the work of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. Carl Jung was one of the creators of modern depth psychology, which seeks to facilitate a conversation with the unconscious energies which move through each of us. He contributed many ideas which continue to inform contemporary life: complex, archetype, persona, shadow, anima and animus, personality typology, dream interpretation, individuation, and many other ideas. He had a deep appreciation of our creative life and considered spirituality a central part of the human journey.
His method of interpretation of symbolic expression not only deepens our understanding of personal material, opening the psychodynamics of our personal biographies and dreams, but the deeper, collective patterns which develop within culture as well. Jung also emphasized the importance of balance and harmony and cautioned that modern humans rely too heavily on science and logic and would benefit from integrating spirituality and appreciation of the unconscious realm.
Jung's unique and broadly influential approach to psychology emphasized understanding the psyche through exploring the worlds of dreams, art, mythology, world religion and philosophy. By using the theory and techniques developed by Jung, the Jungian psychotherapist helps to guide the client in discovering their inner potential and wisdom. Using the Jungian perspective can facilitate a greater understanding of traumas and unhealthy patterns that have hindered one from finding healing and fulfillment in life. The process can certainly be difficult and painful at times, however it can result in a deeper connection with oneself that often results in a deeper connection with others.
